Mindwrap, inc. – the market leader in Macintosh-based document management and workflow solutions - today announced that it has successfully completed a pilot project to integrate its Optix product with MacPractice - the premiere practice management system for Medical, Dental, Chiropractic and Optometry offices. Mindwrap plans to demonstrate the new functionality at the upcoming Macworld Conference and Expo, January 5-9, 2009, at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA in booth #1944.
The new capability – crafted for the Center for Spinal Disorders (CSD) in Phoenix AZ at the request of Dr. William R. Stevens - provides a seamless bridge between any patient record in MacPractice and scanned document images in Optix, allowing users to find all documents related to a patient’s care with a single click. The system also supports the automated indexing and storage of incoming faxes as well as electronic desktop documents. Using Optix Workflow, newly stored documents may be automatically routed to the appropriate attending care provider and other organizational users, ensuring that critical information is always seen by those who need it most.
According to Craig Landrum, Mindwrap’s CTO, “We were excited to be able to work with MacPractice and CSD to create an integrated system that makes the physician’s job easier”.
“We are pleased with the document imaging and workflow capabilities that Optix brings to MacPractice and are confident that this technology will allow medical practices to easily manage diverse types of day-to-day patient and administrative documents,” stated Mark Hollis, President and co-founder of MacPractice.
Dr. William R. Stevens, founder of the Center for Spinal Disorders adds, ”I could not be more impressed with the Optix-MacPractice interface developed by Mindwrap. Although I know you have larger clients, you have worked with us as if we were your biggest account”.
